I'm curious about this question: What he _really_ meant? Derrida would be the first to say that even he didn't have that kind of authority over his texts. Besides, it's easy enough to read the book, though it wouldn't be the Derrida book I'd recommend. :)
I'll miss him. He was a really fine and generous teacher, and someone it was always illuminating to read.
