Actually, it's Jeffrey Fisher who apparently believes that you can learn from Socrates that you can't learn anything from Socrates. This is consistent with your view that "mysticism" doesn't "necessarily preclude rigor" and with your implicit view that self-contradictory claims and insults ("problematic pop psychoanalysis") are what is meant by "rigor." It's also consistent with your idea that those discussing this will necessarily divide into "friends" and "enemies."
