This is a bizarre claim. Lit crit or philosophy, okay. Social sciences? Deconstruction has had little or no impact on psychology, sociology, political science, or economics. If you open any intro soc textbook, you'll find a summary of Mills' concept of the sociological imagination; in contrast, you won't find a reference to Derrida.
