I love these sneers. You think it's so great being an academic these days? It's pretty good if you're making six figures with tenure at a nice university. But for most, it's mediocre pay, minimal job security, and often living in the boonies - if you're lucky enough to have a job. Yeah, it's better than working in a sweatshop, and yeah, some academics are lazy hacks, but leave the cheap shots to the right-wing yahoos.
