Japan's aid for elections

SINGAPORE, OCT. 13. The Japanese Foreign Minister, Nobutaka Machimura, today announced that his country would extend aid amounting to the tune of $40 millions towards the 'successful' conduct of elections in Iraq by the end of January next year.
Pledging this, while welcoming the participants at a donors' conference in Tokyo, Mr. Machimura said the amount would form part of Japan's overall contribution to the International Reconstruction Fund Facility for Iraq (IRFFI).
