By looking at video games, you only get to know video game manufacturers's ideas of male fantasies: "According to NPD Group, a market research firm based in New York, some 81 percent of video game players are male"; and "Informal estimates put the proportion of women in the [video game manufacturing] industry at around 10 percent, and most of them tend to be in customer service, marketing or quality assurance. Relatively few women work as game designers and producers, and even fewer are programmers" (Katie Hafner/The New York Times, "How Women Enter World of Video Games," October 15, 2004, <http://www.iht.com/articles/2004/10/14/business/games.html>). -- Yoshie
