Well, it depends on how you define "socialism". If by socialism, we mean that the govt owns and "plans" (to some degree) the economy, then I guess we could call China "reformed" socialism. But that is the only criterion by which China could be called socialist.

If by socialist we mean an economy run by and for workers, then maybe Arrighi should go to China and ask the workers there. He'd better wear ear plugs to avoid being deafened by the laughter.
