[lbo-talk] Virtually all Dems support Card Check Bill

You might check yours, you goon. Is this priority #762 for your beloved DP, or will they make it happen? Wanna wager your silence on this list versus mine?

P.S. You defended a _flat_ dues structure as a defense against the accusation that the AFL-CIO pays way too little attention to organizing low-wage workers?!?!?! So the hotel maids pay the same dues as the $50,000/year teachers and auto assemblers. Lovely stuff there.

And, speaking of facts, you also know that nobody pays only AFL-CIO dues. Local and state are part of the price of admission to your wondrous Workers' Faction of the Democratic Leadership Council.

Dawson's latest:

Dawson, are you at all interested in reality? Seriously. Do you ever think before you run your mouth? The EFCA is MORE than a repeal of a major section of Taft-Hartley. We have NEVER had mandatory card-check in this country. Ask any union organizer, and they will tell you that the boss campaign during the union election is usually what kills us. Do away with the NLRB election, and we start organizing more workers into unions. It's that simple.

Further, while it would be great to get rid of the right-to-work provisions, back here in the real world we have to fight off attempts to institute new ones in new states. Democrats are inevitably much less likely to support right-to-work than Republicans are. These are just facts.

I earlier called you a loutish, pontificating fool; that may be rude, but I don't really give a shit. If I am rude, it is only because others are so careless with the facts. That is annoying. Some of us know how to add nuance and uncertainty to what we're saying when we can't say with complete self-assurance that we have the best grasp on the facts. Or better yet, we keep our fucking mouths shut when we don't know the facts at hand. This is a simple lesson, but it is far past time that you learned it.

No investigation, no right to speak.
