[lbo-talk] Virtually all Dems support Card Check Bill

The basic fact is that we need 60 pro-labor Senators to get labor law reform. Which means that if you care about labor law reform, you should be cheering on the victory of pro-labor southern Democrats as crucial for building toward that margin.

Or do you really think big rallies in Washington, D.C. are intimidating to GOP Senators from Red states?

Yes, that is a basic fact -- one which your party ignores. If it really supported unions, which it does not, it would be constantly shouting that it needs 60 pro-labor Senators in order to help ordinary people. It simply doesn't care. It prefers to let half the population languish and fight it out in so-called "red" states (you're tipping your captive technocratic hand here, Nate) over who's more moderate and small-government and disinterested in black people.

The MWM was an error, but its target was your party, not southern Republicans. If its organizers had had the discipline to actually wait until it could draw a million people, perhaps your wall of defenses would have taken a small blow.
