Sep 1 2004 1:52PM Moscow suicide bombers will be cursed by God, people - Chechen mufti MOSCOW. Sept 1 (Interfax) - Chechnya's Mufti Akhmad Shamayev has condemned the terrorists whose actions caused the deaths of civilians near the Rizhskaya metro station in Moscow on Tuesday evening.
"As a theologian, I can say that anyone who kills innocent people, regardless of the crime motives, serves the devil and has nothing to do with Islam, Christianity and even paganism," Shamayev said in a phone conversation with Interfax.
The people who publicly call suicide bombers shahids involuntarily help leaders of international terrorism, Sahamayev said. "We in Chechnya have been saying for many years that none of these people are terrorists, they are regular terrorists. Dozens of our clergymen have laid down their lives for this position, and officials in Moscow are calling them shahids on television day and night," he said.
