Yo, gang. I'm back from my brutal teaching run. Shout outs to all.

Two items:

1. Kolko, god bless him, is wrong about the "coalition" argument for not voting for Kerry. The argument assumes that Kerry would actually succeed in building a coalition and winning back the Germans and French. But that's merely one of the many ruses that occupy the space that should be filled by actual policies in Kerry's doomed campaign. It's a lie, and I'm surprised Kolko buys it.

2. Isn't the latest data on health care access and cost a massively obvious indictment of the Clintonoid diversion on that issue? And isn't Kerry's proposed answer to the even-more-obvious-than-ever crisis a pathetic mix of technology fetish and miniature tax cuts "so Americans can afford" to live with the existing arrangement? Again, this is a huge example of the DP falling on swords to satiate its paymasters. Funk dat.
