Granted, the speaker's verbal communicative abilities are less than elegant (and, perhaps, an inadvertent indication that, at bottom, the fellow may himself be more than a little insecure). But isn't the less uninteresting question, What is it that the attorney to whom he was directing those remarks did or failed to do that triggered the comment in question?
