Well, I never said that, nor do I believe that. But there's a lot of support for Bush based on the war, his heroic image, etc., all tied together with the flag. On that front, Bush trounches Kerry everytime. Hell, I have socially liberal relatives who are voting Bush simply because they think we should be fighting all over the Middle East, that somehow this will protect us and that Bush is better suited for said adventure. Are they "reactionary Repubs"? No -- but they're voting for Bush anyway. Once his lever's pulled, it doesn't really matter how "reactionary" they are, right?
