Polls Pinch President: Looks like conventions should be avoided because just as Mr. Kerry failed to see a sustained bounce (or any bounce for that matter), we see on the front cover of today's Investors Business Daily the latest IBD/TIPP poll (Sept 7-12) that the post-GOP convention lift has faded - now a tie at 47% apiece and in fact, Mr. Kerry leads by 2 points among registered voters (and that is with or without Nader). Will this result, along with the renewed spike in oil prices and violence in Iraq, not to mention downward moving corporate guidance, snuff out this month-long rebound in the equity market?
