Russian software exports in 2005 may reach $1Bln -

IRKUTSK. Sept 15 (Interfax-Siberia) - Russian computer
software exports in 2005 may reach $1 billion, a
twofold increase from 2003, Communications Minister
Leonid Reiman said at the third Baikal economic forum
in Irkutsk. 

"In the next decade, the Russian software industry may
become comparable to oil extraction," he said. 

He said he expected software exports to skyrocket to
$2 billion in 2006.
