A BIBLE-wielding man who climbed into an enclosure with four lions at Melbourne Zoo will probably not be charged, police said yesterday.
Zoo staff lured the big cats away from the man, who emerged unscathed.
He had climbed a 6m fence to get into the enclosure housing the adult lions about 3pm on Tuesday.
He got a Bible out of his bag and held it up while talking to shocked onlookers, witnesses said.
Police took the man to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for psychiatric assessment.
