Perhaps Rosenbaum is right; I don't know; I haven't seen Silver City yet. But, I plan to see it, as I've seen every movie John Sayles has made. (Some people feel this way about the Coen brothers; for me it's Sayles). I haven't liked them all, but I certainly remember them all.

Sayles does not make typical, emotional rollecoaster Hollywood movies; by that standard, the pace is too slow, and the characters pointedly unglamorous. But the acting is always fine, and I learn something from each one. My faves so far have been "Brother from Another Planet" and "Lone Star."
