yes, that is indeed a better way of putting it. what i really meant was this: even though there is an issue of pedophilia that is relevant to incest (as an intersection) it can be avoided by proposing that both persons invloved are "adult"s. i (probably not the most appropriately) used orthogonal == at right angles, i.e., connected but independent. its pretty badly worded, i must admit.
