I was away for a bit but feel compelled to correct the statistical error in this thread's Subject line. The Results for America (which I had already provided a link to earlier last week) poll says that 67% support some kind of National Health Insurance (that can be anything from "individual mandates"--everyone MUST buy private insurance--to social insurance/socialized delivery). 61% of the 67% support "single payer" which makes it 41% of the people. There was a similar number for "socialized medicine".

What made this poll unique was their willingness to ask about specific progressive ideas (rather than the vague signifying mush most polls use). The result were somewhat surprising to me. Compare those results with the Kaiser stuff Kelly provided a link for.
