With PIRG, you registered people to vote but you weren't supposed to encourage them to tell you how they registered. My point was that, young and idealistic, we believed and hoped they'd vote Mondale--whoever the hell ran against Bush. We'd had two terms of Raygun and yet, the poor would look at us and defiantly tell us they were _voting_ Republican. Whether they registered R, D, or I I wouldn't know.
