Mike Ballard : The origins of wealth are nature and labour. Ownership of nature i.e. land, resources and the social products of labour (which come from human resources) are what wealth is.

Are there any other sources?

^^^^ CB: Neo-classically, I think people in Brad D.'s profession say capital. ***********

Variable capital?

That makes sense. Using natural resources and the already existing circulating and fixed capital, variable capital (which has previously been employed to produce the aforementioned types of capital) creates social wealth which is appropriated by capitalists. Of course, the capitalists pay the workers a fair days wage for a fair days work for the use of their labour.

Best, Mike B)
