I agree with Chuck & Doug that land use patters are crucial.  But then many poor people 
must commute because they cannot afford high urban rents.

There is not a single key to the problems of society.  People are correct to concentrate 
their energies on areas that interest them, but somehow we will be stymied until we learn 
to put everything together.
