well then you're in luck because most growth funds top holdings will look just like this list so you might as well go with a conventional funds -- that was doug's point. it's a good point. I was essentially asking whether there's any deeper reason to not invest in them.

your response leads me to think of another argument one could make against them: the marginal benefits of these funds is outweighed by the negative impact of the illusions they create.
