But you're wrong to lump them together. The number comes from leaving out unknown becaue they are unknown. If they knew for sure they were strangers, they'd say so.

But you can't know whether they are strangers or not. So it's wrong to lump them in with strangers. A criminologist certainly doesn't. Plus, they do break down murder by circumstances of the murder, so they can draw some conclusions about what the unknown category might look like. It simply doesn't follow that, be/c it's unknown, it must be a, as you said, drug-related murder!
Here, btw, are the numbers that break it down into drug/gang/gambling/prostitution related murders, so you're still wrong to say that aquaintance murders are mostly made up of drug related murders. You don't know that and you can only go by the data, below. You can try to weasel by pointing at "other" and "unknown" as to circumstances by aquaintance murder, but you're still making too many unwarranted assumptions. Though, of course, I'm sure the murder rate is higher b/c of drug laws, not denying that.
