That's the analysis that I read in the SJ Merc, although precious little gets said in the California papers about the mechanics of politics in the state...

Arnie's a moron with a personality slightly better than GWB, and *at least* the ability to follow through and excel at his chosen profession... acting.

That's a plus for his handlers. GWB couldn't even keep a simple business from going down in flames, and everyone who cares to check can find that out.

Californians wanted a hero to save them from financial ruin but they got another kind of "H", a hack, and an inexperienced one to boot. California's economic problems took 30 years or so to create... Prop. 13 would be a good place to start, and the dot-crash simply started it rolling over the economic precipice.

The vote for Ahhhnold was a typical response from people looking for instant gratification, similar to the person that spends their life fucking themself up, and then goes to the doctor and expects an overnight cure. California needs someone with a serious background in economics as governor, but we got an actor instead. Someone who can smile and promise, but deliver?

I've seen no change whatsoever... about literally anything.

Will he be re-elected? ...Too early to tell.

Leigh
