Pigeonholing the predictive abilities of human beings into a binary [any binary] is just silly. You don't even know when the NASDAQ will hit 6,000, what makes you think you can predict the morphological-cognitive-technological future of homo ignoramus ignoramus? Arrogance, simple arrogance.

For all you don't know, banality and mediocrity may be our lot for the next 500 years. Alot of innocent people died last century as a result of people who combined idealism [irrespective of whether some of them called themselves materialists] with omnipotence fantasies wedded to deterministic physical and social theories. Such attitudes will not help us adapt to/with the kinds of ecosystems the present-cum-future evolves..........
