[lbo-talk] Chechnya/Dagestan: Threat to Russia's hold on Caucasus

FWIW, I was in the North Caucasus last week
(Rostov-na-Donu), and the Kremlin apparantly feels
Chechnya is stable enough to allow 6 or 7
Rostov-Grozny and Grozny-Rostov trains through a day.
I know, because I was in the train station watching
the trains go past.

Rostov is a great city. Struck me as a combination of
Moscow and San Diego.
