Unfortunately, universalism and internationalism are not the only thing on which the broad post WWII left have given up, socialism is another discarded concept.
I agree that the single state concept does not seem like a possibility in today's climate, but neither does socialism. But you must also agree that both make much more sense than their neo-liberal alternatives.
In any case, I already said too much on the subject. My feelings are mixed and the best way is to remain silent.
