I have heard that the European Union has strong regulations for privacy protection that prohibit companies from collecting and keeping too much user/customer info for too long (at least in comparison to the status quo in the USA -- I'm not sure if Euro regulations are well enforced). Does that mean that European companies sell admin programs that automatically purge the kind of info that you mention sooner than what American companies sell?
