Incidentally, Radzinsky, who hates Bush, was/is probably the most famous Soviet/Russian theater director and is regular feature on cultural programs on Russian TV. In addition to his Alexander book, he has written a book on Stalin that is somewhat kooky in parts, IMO, and a great biography of Rasputin. In the latter book, he makes the interesting -- and probably correct -- argument that Rasputin's "unkillability" was a myth. In fact, the assassins just popped him, dumped him in the river, and made up the rest of the story to support the idea that they had killed a Satanic being.
Nu, zayats, pogodi!
