Yes, the book on Cuba's health care sector that I mentioned earlier, written by a midwestern academic who was not a Marxist, describes Cuba's astonishing leap from third world to first world medical care in one generation ....all the while offering free care and training to other third world countries. I especially remember that in the wake of the Chernobyl disaster, Cuba treated well over 100,000 people for radiation sickness and burns. What did the U.S. do? It flew 40 kids to Disneyland.
