why do mere quotation marks scare some of you so much? i find nothing scary about them. all they tell me is that the author does not necessarily agree with the use of the term or phrase within quotes, though it is broadly used.
e.g: the "left wing" mailing list, lbo-talk, yesterday, was recently renamed to 'lnp-bashfest'. but don't let that scare you. there is still some room for 'left' discussion, though ccox, when reached for comment, rejected as meaningless the idea that 'some room for X'. ;-)
