Ravi:

recent material on this list has been interesting: the wonders of *western* liberal democracy. the shooting of an innocent person by the british police is an "accident". male feelings of impotence as a primary cause of the london bombing. alex cockburn's highlighting of the other side of the "indian [capitalist] miracle" is wrong. a while ago we had someone express his opinion [of distaste] on a man having sex with another man. someone else posted recently that a vegetarian diet stunts growth. etc. etc.

======

But you do understand, I hope, that the opinions you listed were expressed by, at best, probably three people with Wojtek taking the lead on the wonders of western lib democracy/London shooting as accident/male impotence explains terrorism POV.

A while ago, a lurker who, for a brief while, de-lurked expressed dismay that so many list-members were fabulously wealthy. The evidence? A few uber-confident comments by Jordan about housing and investment.

As you know the list encompasses a range of views -- everything from 'hooray for the Dems' mainstream-ery butter to smash the state! radicalism. From 'where's my robot butler goddamn it!' technophilia to 'who needs electricity?' techno-aversion.

And of course, shades of beauty and ugliness in-between.

Sometimes, one voice, or set of voices, gets a bit louder making it easy to feel the mood has shifted in one direction or another. But, this isn't necessarily the case.
