When I was in Italy in the summer of '76, I heard a story from a guy who'd been bicycling through Sardinia. Riding past a psychiatric clinic, he saw a woman tied to a tree, surrounded by three men in white coats. They were slapping her, saying, "You're not the Virgin Mary! You're not the Virgin Mary!"
