Dear Colleagues,

Apologies for the mass mailing, but we are getting down to the wire here at NYU. I want to thank those of you who have in the last 2 days been able to send John Sexton, NYU President, a letter at John.Sexton at NYU.edu in protest of his decision to blacklist our TAs if they do not end their 24-day strike-- for union recognition-- on Monday, December 5th. This is the same university administration that surreptitiously used Blackboard on the first day of the strike to infiltrated undergraduate courses with TAs.

The "Letter from Scholars" to John Sexton, begun by Judith Butler, is now posted to the NYU Faculty Deomcracy website, www.facultydemocracy.org. You can click to sign it from that address, and to view the signatures. You can also go directly to the petition site http://new.petitiononline.com/tosexton/petition.html.

If you prefer to write directly to President Sexton, please send a copy to Julia Steinmetz at steinmetz at nyu.edu .

Please PASS it ON as well.

Many thanks, Christine
