If they stay the course and refuse to take a tough stand against the war, they are headed for certain defeat next year. The Dems just don't understand how out of touch they are with average Americans and their Democratic base. The average Democrat is outraged at the war and mad at the party for being a bunch of wusses. More and more Americans oppose the war and hate the Bushies. If the Dems aren't going to tap into that then they are going to lose badly as disgusted Dems and independents stay home from the polls in disgust. The Republicans will survive because they have legions of automatons who will pull the lever for the Republicans as long as Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Lielly tell them to.
