Singapore to acquire 12 F-15 fighter aircraft

Singapore has signed a contract Boeing company to acquire 12 F-15 fighter aircraft.
The F-15SG, which has a configuration that is unique to Singapore, will be the most advanced variant of F-15 and will operate as the next generation multi-role fighter jet of the Republic of Singapore Air Force's (RSAF), Defence Ministry statement said in Singapore on Monday.
They will replace the A-4SU Skyhawks and are equipped with sophisticated avionics and weapons systems to give the RSAF significantly better system-level capability, the statement said.
The 12 F-15SG expected to be delivered by the year 2008-09 are likely to be managed by the Defence Science and Technology Agency.
