Ha -- I remember in boot camp, some other trainee (which we were called) came up to me and said "Hey Perrin. There's this guy who's talking just like you." So we go to the barracks quad and there's this serious young (well, we were all young) white guy telling three other trainees how the US military structure resembled the Eastern European states, and asked them what did that mean when it came to defining what was "free" and what was not. Well, those other guys had no real idea what Steven was talking about, but he and I became kinda informal friends for the rest of boot camp. He later went on to Airborne -- said he wanted to study the warrior aesthetic up close.
