BTW..that same interview that Chip gushes about also contained an agregious personal adhominen attack by Goff against adult entertainer/sex radical activist/political Leftist/feminist Nina Hartley and her husband Ernest Greene. Stanley had earlier written a long piece for an antiporn website which basically smeared Nina and other sex radical/pro-sex feminist thinkers as mere enablers to rape and murder of women, and "plants" of the patriarchy. Both Nina and Ernest has petitioned both KPFK and Ms. Kolhatkar for equal time and space to respond to the personal attacks and distortions to her beliefs.....but the response has been dead silence.
I could actually care less about Chip Berlet being a prude (that's his right, I guess)..but he has no right to assume that other Leftists who disagree with his analysis shouldn't be allowed their right to defend themselves. That's not only narrow-minded...that's doing the Right's job for them. Not good for an activist who's always warning us against making ties with fascists and/or rightists...I guess that all standards fall when it comes to sex.
It's not about masturbating, Mr. Berlet...it's about acceptance of diversity of views amongst the Left.
