It seems to me that it's clear that Hustler is more sexist than the New York Times. While the corporate media in general _tend_ to put more men than women in positions of authority (as authoritative sources, writers, editors, publishers, implied audience, etc.), Hustler and other typical straight porn magazines take it to the extreme. Women are not part of their implied audience at all: they sell images of women to men, period. Here, the difference in degree, as it is so gigantic, matters a great deal, and that's the reason why women don't read Hustler but read the New York Times.

While I don't go so far as Chip, as I don't necessarily discourage writers from writing for Hustler -- after all, in a capitalist society, we all need to get paid, and it's difficult enough for any writer to get paid to write _anywhere_ -- I certainly don't recommend it. Any good writing that goes into Hustler gets wasted, as it won't resurface from it and get circulated by email and other means, unlike things that get published in the New York Times and other notable corporate media, which will get passed around.
