Writing for Hustler, you have little chance of reaching women. Writing for the New York Times, you have a much better chance of getting read by many women. Besides, Hustler's audience is much smaller than the New York Times' to begin with, and what's published in Hustler doesn't get passed around by email and other means, whereas what's written in the New York Times often is. Reaching a lot of women is more important than reaching few men as far as American leftists are concerned. Women are to the left of men, so women are our base; and to get to men, try to get to them through the influence of women in their lives. Yoshie Furuhashi <<<<<>>>>>

hustler 'readership' is way down, of course print media (including nyt) is down, at its peak hustler circulation was about 3 million, is now about 300,000 (about twice that of the nation)...

more importantly, however, print porn is way way down, folks are 'getting it' on-line, hustler on-line business is about 4 times that of hustler in-print, not wishing to pay for trial membership, i don't know whether or not hustler e-zine includes huster in-print articles, but even if it does, how many 'members' (oh my, he typed member, lions and tigers and bears, oh my) go there for the prose...

in any event, flynt's business interests are pretty diversified, hustler in-print is apparently quite small portion, as such, he didn't experience kind of financial problems that penthouse's guccione did when that mag's circulation went limp, current 'leftist' phase of hustler in-print may well be have marketing motivations, if it fails to have much impact on circulation, well, ole' lair has internet highway, toys, casino, restaurant, licensing of hustler name to keep him hard... mh
