Well, at the time I was born, it was performed basically as a routine 
procedure in a lot of hospitals. I got the treatment, and it never 
seemed to have caused me much of a problem.

"Female circumcision" ("genital mutilation" would be a better term) is 
far more harmful to girls, in many ways.
