Been doing it for decades. I have a closet full of suits. I like suits. Ties. hats, even. What is this hippy shit with "suits are Republican"? Lenin wore a suit. Is there some rule that if you're a red you have to dress like a schlumpf?

Alas, in my new firm we wear "business casual," had to buy a new wardrobe. ===

schlumpf?

It's no thingy if you don't like 'em. but my t-shirt with a "built in" Tux (for those "formal" occasions) is *hardly* schlumpf !

I own a Necktie, too... The pattern: the molecular structure of Scotch whiskey as seen through an electron microscope.

Suits and ties are a little constricting when driving truck, and and doing all those sweaty proletariat type things.

That's been my life... and suits? Well, those are the people upstairs who earn way too much money and need a spellchecker on their computer to write memos. (Context can still be a terribly serious problem, though.)

I could tell you a funny story about a Stanley Tool Co. manager, an engine lathe, and a tie left to dangle near the feed screw of the machine.... but I'd best not... It's an ugly picture...

A guy with NO TIE and a "name on his shirt" saved him from a fate worse than... embarrasment.

I do my best organizing, convincing and conciousness raising when dressed like, and preferably, am like, the people I am addressing.

I'm not gonna be at General Dynamics HQ next week (or the week after) trying to convince the CFO to change the company's industrial production profile to "housing for humanity" so Working Assets will invest in them.

I don't need the suit. But the T-Tux is almost worn out.

schlumpf? Hmmmph!
