The majority of members of the local depressive support group are evangelical or fundamentalist xtians. They really believe, but it is also really difficult to see how their religous belief affects anything except their religious belief! In their actual judgments of particular people and actions they are amazingly free of moralism. I've found out the last couple weeks that most of them saw me on TV reading the speech (written by two other members of the BNCPJ) in the Alternative Inauguration (for a Juniper Bush) the BNCPJ held on Jan. 20.

Statements about individual evangelicals etc. based on their supposed beliefs are totally untrustworthy.

Everyone on this list must know the gap between theory and practice in most human affairs -- why should it be different among poor whites, evangelicals, etc.?
