I do agree that we cannot blame the conservatives and GOP alone. In my pragmatist mode, however, and as someone who *does* do activism when presented with something such as the horrors that the Bush budget represents I would say that there are degrees of difference between the Repugnants and DIMs depending upon what issue is involved. It is a ray of hope that I hold out that somehow these cuts will be prevented. And they will have to be prevented by our elected representatives in the congress or by the governors - the Barbara Boxers and Tom Harkins of the world. So I act. I call. I organize phone campaigns, knowing very well that the line is thin indeed, but we are talking about people's lives here. There is no other organized means of opposing what is a death sentence to some. This gets back to there not being any other choice. What is the alternative? Ralph Nader? You tell me. Am I going to wait for the anti war movement to materialize? Seriously, this is serious business. I, for one, cannot sit back and do nothing. I wonder about people who pontificate and do nothing (I am not referring to you Yoshie, I know how hard you work). I wonder if people are aware of the devastation that lies ahead if Bush's agenda succeeds.

This is my last post of the day. I am over limit and tired to the bone.
