--so? Are you saying that because the anti-occupation forces are anti- gay marriage I should support the US occupation of Iraq? And just where are you imagining that leftists in the US are talking highly of the resistance in Iraq as though they were of the same political strand as the FSLN or the like? Your moving in the Marc Cooper direction of making wild claims about the left without any real serious references aside from your own claims. Seriously Michael, show me where Chomsky or Klein or Cockburn or others that so move the anti-antiwar movement to long tirades have actually sung the praises of the anti-occupation resistance as the most progressive force in the world. It can be stated fairly enough that if there were no anti-occupation force in Iraq that more than likely Iran and Syria would have been subject to a series of military assaults at one or another level not short of direct invasion of ground troops. Surely there is something positive at least about that, or are you with Michael Totten, say, and calling for an invasion of Iran, bombing away at Syria, murder of Sadr as the desired solution to the current US created mess of pointless death in Iraq?
