With violence surging, new Ukrainian President Yushchenko vows to bring his 1,600 troops home within six months. After agreeing to leave troops through this month's elections, Hungary plans to bring them home by March.
Others planning full or partial pullouts include the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Poland, while Portugal and Moldova mull following suit. Though nearly a third of 36 coalition members have exited or announced plans to, U.S. officials say the impact is strictly symbolic; Moldova has fewer than a dozen troops on the ground.
