I can relate to this. I can personally vouch for the fact that long-term professional unemployment does frightful things to the mind. The worst of it is that you don't realize that bits and pieces of your self-esteem are being sandblasted into oblivion.
All the more reason to show more compassion and solidarity with each other, and to concentrate our fire on the Enemy.
