The example of a Hayek problem that you have given earlier, Betamax, was in fact a Veblen problem. The big players could not reach an agreement.

Also, to pose the Hayek problem as one of message passing from desire to production misses the production of desire. That is all the more deplorable since it was precisely here that the USSR "failed". They gave people too much freedom ...
