It's very important - the left to them is somehow all mixed up with the bad stuff in modernity, like sex, homosex, feminism, godlessness, foreigners. They thrive on fantasies of the left's hegemony too. It's part of all the major right ideologies, isn't it? The libertarians see the Fabian nanny state and socialist regulations; the trads see the fingerprints of the Frankfurt school on our immoral popular culture; the neocons see popular opinion poisoned by peaceniks; etc.
